Yes. GrapheneOS offers an optional sandboxed Play compatibility layer. Play Services then runs as a regular app without elevated privileges.

Does WhatsApp work?

Yes, with sandboxed Google Play installed.

Does contactless payment with Google Wallet work?

No. Google Wallet payments do not work on GrapheneOS. The NFC hardware itself works and can be used for other purposes.

Does 5G work?

Yes.

Can I return to stock Android?

Yes. You can restore the original Google firmware yourself using Google's official tools.
